IT’S BAAAAAAACK! You know when people talk about how excited they get when a new series starts of their favourite TV show? Well I am exactly the same about The Great British Bake Off.

Obviously I love it for the high standard of baking from the contestants but let’s not forget the high standard of banter between the hosts and the judges.

Next week is biscuits… Maybe I should set myself the challenge of baking something from each show? Too much? We’ll see!

If you’ve never seen it or don’t want to join the hype, I urge you to give it a go as I garantee you won’t be disappointed.

Happy baking everyone!

Orange is the New Black

15 Jun

Is anyone else absolutely obsessed with Orange is the New Black? Cos I bloody well am!

I didn’t quite understand what binge watching was until this series came along.

It’s witty, dramatic, completely different to anything else I’ve watched AND it’s all for free on Netflix. Please, please, please keep making it for me.

What do you think of it?

Christmas Time…

18 Dec

My favourite thing about getting home for Christmas is planning the tv viewing, you know you have to make sure that nothing clashes with dinner!

There are a million and one Christmas films out there but I want to talk to you about my favourites. In no particular order…

1. Love Actually

With a star studded cast I would be shocked if you hadn’t seen or heard of this feel good film. Telling about 10 different stories within one film works so well because they are concentrate on the different types of love. It’s funny, it’s sad and it’s just what you need to lift your Christmas spirit.

2. It’s A Wonderful Life

Out in 1946, this film is the oldest and definitely most timeless Christmas film I know about. The main character George Bailey is going through a tough time when a guardian angel appears to help him see the lives George has touched and how important he truly is. Make sure you get the tissues ready for this one!

3. Elf

Will Ferrel in a Christmas comedy, what more could you ask for? This film is suitable for all ages as you follow Buddy the elf on his quest to New York City were things are slightly different from the North Pole.

4. The Nightmare Before Christmas

I can never quite work out if this is a Halloween or Christmas film but none the less it’s a favourite of mine!
A portal has been opened between Halloween Town and Christmas Town but perhaps with unexpected consequences…

The 80s

7 Jun

On this lovely summers evening, my house mates and I are watching Cocktail with Tom Cruise. I think  this is Tom Cruise at  his finest! Well it’s either his performance in this or Top Gun that gets me going every time.

This has got me thinking about how much I love the 80s, like I mean REALLY love the 80s. Let’s face it, this decade gave us some of the best music from the likes of Hall and Oates and Wham. The fashion trends were as huge as the shoulder pads and what about the films?? I have mentioned two classics already but what about Fame and The Breakfast Club?

Gosh I just love the 80s! Tell me what you most love about the 80s and why…

Lazy Days

21 Mar

I like to spend my days off doing as little as possible so today me and Pippin have had a duvet day. Apart from catching up on Grey’s Anatomy, I watched One Fine Day. If you haven’t seen it, then please do so. I might go as far as saying it’s my favourite romcom! What’s yours?

Disney Princesses

20 Mar

Watching Pocahontas with my housemates and it sparked up a debate about who the fittest Disney princess is? Lea rightly pointed out about Ariel’s big boobies however, my vote if for Pocahontas with Jasmin coming in at a close second. Who do you think is the hottest?

Grey’s Anatomy

8 Mar

Well, where do I start with Grey’s Anatomy?
It is the possibly the most thrilling and equally depressing series I watch, but I just can’t get enough of it!

If you like dramatic series with a dry sense of humour then I urge you to give Grey’s Anatomy a go if you haven’t already.

To this day I don’t think I’ve watched an episode without crying. It also goes without saying that the combination of McSteamy and McDreamy makes all the tears worth it!
